About Brian Manwaring

I began my career as a mechanical engineer and gradually moved into broader operating responsibility—engineering management, operations, sales and marketing, general management, and eventually multi-site manufacturing leadership.

I currently serve as a Regional General Manager with Novae / H&H Trailers. Before that, I spent seven years as General Manager of Powder River Livestock Equipment after earlier roles there in engineering, operations, and sales and marketing.

Over time, I became increasingly interested in questions of judgment, responsibility, authority, and development. Those questions are the source of the essays collected here.

Wally’s Dogs grew from a practical problem I encountered repeatedly: capable operating people could often see that a P&L had changed without being equally comfortable determining why.

I also draw, and a small selection of that work is included here.

I earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
